What We Do...

Raise money and awareness for local charities and issues by hosting events and taking initiatives. Educate the youth on the common issues that may or may not be easily visible by teaching them to be global leaders in our society.

Who We Are...

Junior Civitan of Oakville is a smaller grassroots club of a more international club known as Junior Civitan and on a broader scale, Civitan International. We also have a club for older members that wish to participate amongst other volunteers in our community known as Oakville Civitan

History...

On May 13th 2010, the Civitan Club of Oakville proudly "re"-chartered the Oakville Junior Civitan Club! After about 2 months of work, spearheaded by President James McCannell, a group of 20 wonderful Oakville Students, and the club advisor, James McCannell formally chartered the Oakville Junior Civitan Club.

Welcome to Junior Civitan of Oakville

Junior Civitan is an organization of volunteers dedicated to helping people in their own communities. We as Civitans help wherever and whenever the need arises in order to help out our local charities. We meet once a week at Abbey Park High School and we are always looking for new members. So feel free to contact us and let us know that you would like to join!

Benefit Number One

In addition to club and district activities, Junior Civitans have the chance to attend several annual international events; these events let members meet other Junior Civitans, have fun, and raise money. Sno-Do is a snowmobile marathon held yearly in the beautiful icy wilderness of Ontario, Canada. Dance-A-Thon is a themed dance marathon, also held yearly in Canada.

Benefit Number Two

Every member helps to choose which projects and programs our club will support, and there are many leadership opporunities at the local level. District and international leadership positions allow members to travel, attend special events, and develop crucial leadership skills important in university and future careers.

Benefit Number Three

Members of our club are often recognized for outstanding leadership, projects, and activities. These prestigious awards are presented at annual district and international conventions to honor the achievements of our best and brightest Junior Civitans. Along with this there are many other opportunities to be rewarded with accolades such as volunteer hours.
